My name is Shinobu Nordgren. I'm Japanese but I have been living in Finland since 1970's. I'm breeding Yorkshire Terriers under the Morpheus banner.
When I was a young student, I once saw a beautiful photo of a Yorkie in a magazine. That Yorkie had a nice red ribbon and a long beautiful coat with such incredible colours. After seeing that photo, I thought that some day in the future I'll be the owner of such a beautiful small dog. That dream came true in 1969: I bought my first Yorkshire Terrier when I was still living in Japan. Later, when I moved to Finland in 1973, I took my two Yorkies with me to the new home country.
I wanted to begin a show career in Finland, and so I started to look for a good breeder who would be both reliable and honest, when selling a show Yorkie to me. I finally learnt to know the famous Finnish kennel Poppoon. The breeder Leena Kaplas and her Yorkie Deebees Sensation had won Best In Show at the Helsinki International Dog Show, 1982. I gathered up my courage and contacted Leena. To my happiness, I could buy a Yorkie bitch from her. The bitch, Poppoon Primavera, was a daughter of Deebees Sensation. "Veera", as I called her at home, became my very first Finnish champion.
Today, I have owned a number of Finnish champions, many of which are also international champions.

| Although I love to go for
shows with my dogs, the very best moments with my yorkies are the evenings
at home when I can play with them and truly enjoy their company.

Finally, I would like to thank the world-famous breeders Mrs Beech (Deebees) and Mrs Crowther (Candytops) for their contribution to my breeding program. Likewise, my warmest thanks to Leena and Pekka Kaplas for their friendship - their ever-reliable and valuable advice, and for photographing my dogs!
